Troubleshooting

Common issues & fixes

If your upload is rejected, one of these is usually the reason.

  • Upload rejected — file size too large

    What you see

The portal displays "File size exceeds the allowed limit" or the upload button spins indefinitely.

    How to fix it

This tool automatically compresses your photo to the exact size limit. Re-process your photo and download again — the output will be within the allowed limit.

  • Photo rejected — wrong dimensions

    What you see

The portal shows "Invalid photo dimensions" or "Photo does not meet size requirements".

    How to fix it

Use the correct preset for your exam. This tool resizes your photo to the exact pixel dimensions required — no manual resizing needed.

  • Format not accepted — only JPEG allowed

    What you see

Portal shows "Only JPEG/JPG format accepted" even though your photo looks fine.

    How to fix it

This tool automatically converts PNG, WebP, and other formats to JPEG on download. Ensure you are uploading the file you just downloaded, not your original.

  • Background rejected — not white

    What you see

The portal flags the photo for "incorrect background colour" or the automated check fails.

    How to fix it

This tool cannot change the background of your photo. Retake your photo in front of a plain white or off-white wall in good lighting. Then re-process through this tool.

  • Photo rejected — too old

    What you see

Form submission blocked with "Please upload a recent photograph (within 6 months)".

    How to fix it

Government portals require a recent photo. Use a photo taken within the last 6 months, then process it here.

Frequently asked questions

What photo size does IBPS require?
IBPS requires a passport-size photo: 3.5x4.5 cm (413x531 pixels at 300 DPI), JPEG format, under 200 KB. This applies to all IBPS notifications unless a specific exam states otherwise.
Is IBPS PO photo size the same as IBPS Clerk?
Yes. IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS SO, and IBPS RRB all use the same photo specification. One properly sized file works across all four application portals.
What background is required for IBPS photos?
IBPS requires a plain white background. The photo appears on your admit card, so a clean white background with even lighting gives the clearest result. Outdoor backgrounds, studio props, and coloured walls are rejected.
Do I also need to resize my signature for IBPS?
Yes. IBPS requires a signature image at 140x60 pixels, under 30 KB. Use Signature 30KB to prepare it. Both the photo and signature must be uploaded before you can submit the application.
Can I use the same photo for SBI PO as well?
SBI PO has a stricter 50 KB file size limit. A 200 KB IBPS photo will be rejected on the SBI portal. Use Bank Exam Photo which compresses specifically to 50 KB.
