Troubleshooting

Common issues & fixes

If your upload is rejected, one of these is usually the reason.

  • Upload rejected — file size too large

    What you see

The portal displays "File size exceeds the allowed limit" or the upload button spins indefinitely.

    How to fix it

This tool automatically compresses your photo to the exact size limit. Re-process your photo and download again — the output will be within the allowed limit.

  • Photo rejected — wrong dimensions

    What you see

The portal shows "Invalid photo dimensions" or "Photo does not meet size requirements".

    How to fix it

Use the correct preset for your exam. This tool resizes your photo to the exact pixel dimensions required — no manual resizing needed.

  • Format not accepted — only JPEG allowed

    What you see

Portal shows "Only JPEG/JPG format accepted" even though your photo looks fine.

    How to fix it

This tool automatically converts PNG, WebP, and other formats to JPEG on download. Ensure you are uploading the file you just downloaded, not your original.

  • Background rejected — not white

    What you see

The portal flags the photo for "incorrect background colour" or the automated check fails.

    How to fix it

This tool cannot change the background of your photo. Retake your photo in front of a plain white or off-white wall in good lighting. Then re-process through this tool.

  • Photo rejected — too old

    What you see

Form submission blocked with "Please upload a recent photograph (within 6 months)".

    How to fix it

Government portals require a recent photo. Use a photo taken within the last 6 months, then process it here.

Frequently asked questions

What photo size does SBI PO require?
SBI PO and SBI Clerk require a passport-size photo: 3.5x4.5 cm (413x531 pixels), JPEG format, under 50 KB. This is the strictest bank portal limit in India, and this tool targets exactly that.
Why does this tool use 50 KB and not 200 KB?
SBI sets the strictest limit at 50 KB. If you compress to 50 KB, the same file will be accepted by all bank portals, including IBPS and PNB which allow higher sizes. Going the other way does not work.
What background is required for bank exam photos?
All major bank portals require a plain white background. Photo should be taken in the last 6 months, face forward, neutral expression. Coloured walls or outdoor backgrounds are rejected.
Do I need a separate signature image for bank applications?
Yes. Bank applications require a signature image at 140x60 pixels. The file size limit varies by bank. Use Signature 20KB for a 20 KB output or Signature 30KB for 30 KB.
Can I use this photo for IBPS as well?
Yes. A 50 KB photo is well within the IBPS 200 KB limit and will be accepted. But if quality matters more, use IBPS Photo instead, which applies the full 200 KB budget for a sharper result.
